A college culture of health and wellbeing
The college is committed to providing a healthy college environment to improve the health and wellbeing of students and staff.
What are the benefits of being part of a healthy college?
So what does being part of a healthy college mean for you? You will have the opportunity to access the appropriate advice and guidance about well-being so you can make informed choices about your health.
Studies have shown there is a clear link between healthy college initiatives and bringing about a positive change in emotional and physical wellbeing. We are fully committed to creating an environment to improve the health and wellbeing of all the staff and students in the college.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions on how to make the college healthier and happier, please email the Student Liaison Manager at jedavison@darlington.ac.uk
How will you benefit from being part of a healthy college?
The healthy college criteria includes:
- whole college awareness
- healthy eating
- active citizens/community involvement
- college environment
- student wellbeing
- staff wellbeing
- physical activity
- emotional health and wellbeing
- sexual health
The healthy college group is looking at all of these criteria and mapping what we currently have in place and what we would like to see in place. We will include these in the 3 year health improvement strategy.
Being part of a college where all these initiatives are important benefits staff and students. We spend a lot of time here in college so we need to be as happy and as healthy as we can possibly be.
