Once you apply and are accepted on to a course, the next step is to enrol at the college from August.

If you haven’t received the grades required for your course, come into college and see your tutor and we will make sure you get on a suitable course. Or, you can contact our guidance team here  HERE

Please note that if you are wanting to enrol on a Higher Education course, ESOL, or a maths or English course you will need to contact our Admissions team on 01325 503030 before coming into college to enrol.

FAQS

We’ve put together some handy Frequently Answered Questions to that may answer some of your questions.

Can I still apply?

Absolutely – it is not too late to apply to college for September 2022. If you are clear as to the type of course you are looking to study with us then please go to www.darlington.ac.uk and make your application on the relevant course page.

If you are a bit undecided as to the path you are looking to take, then you are free to contact our guidance team for advice and help with your options email guidanceservices@darlington.ac.uk . If you are in year 11 and a school leaver we would also think that your own schools careers advisor would be happy to speak to you about your aspirations. Whatever the case, you don’t have to make decisions on your own.

I haven’t attended On Course to College, will this affect my place?

You will not be penalised for not attending an On Course to College event and will still be kept up to date with the same correspondence as those students who have attended. Please make sure that if you change your email address, postal address or phone number you let the college know so we can amend you application form and keep you up to date with any information you will need to enrol with us after results day. Do I need an interview?

If you are applying to be an apprentice, interviews are now taking place, in some instances this may take place virtually via Google Meet or Zoom by tutors and employers taking on the apprentice. In some areas of curriculum a tutor may also wish to invite you in to college discuss the course, particularly when considering if a T-Level is right for you. Please do make sure you keep your contact details up to date so we can text, call and email you to give you important information. Other tutors may invite you to join a Facebook group to keep in contact. We have also sent pre work for some areas to school careers advisors to give you a flavour of what you can expect on your course when you get to college.

Can I visit the College?

Yes – contact our Marketing team throughout the summer to arrange a personal tour of our fantastic facilities. We are unable to guarantee a tour for unexpected visitors, but we will do our best to accommodate you. Email marketing@darlington.ac.uk or why not visit our brand new Virtual Tour HERE.

When can I enrol?

You will be sent a letter detailing all times for enrolment. We have missed seeing you face to face so from 25th August you will be invited in to college to meet your tutor, secure your place on your course and enrol. Please if you have access to a smartphone, bring this with you as this will make the enrolment process quicker for you.
