What do you enjoy about your course?
I really enjoyed learning about all the different jobs in the travel industry. It helped me decide what jobs I would like to do in the future and which ones aren’t something I am really interested in. I also really enjoyed all the different trips we went on especially the Edinburgh trip.
What attracted you to Darlington College?
The reason I wanted to come to Darlington College is because I knew it had the course I was looking for to help me get the jobs I would like to do in the future. I also knew people who were already studying here and they were enjoying it so it made me want to go to this college rather than another one that does the same course.
What are your career aspirations?
I would like to be able to do some different jobs in the travel industry as I get older including a travel agent, cabin crew, working in the airport and maybe a holiday rep.
What is the next step in your education?
I am about to start an apprenticeship at Hays Travel to become a qualified travel agent.
How will this course prepare you for your next step?
The travel and tourism course has prepared me for my next step as it helped me decide if a travel agent is something I really want to do and has helped me know what to expect and what is going to be expected of me.
What advice would you give to other students?
I would advise future students to keep up to date with both course work and e-learning if applicable as and when it is due. Try not to be distracted by other students.
